Bequest of Insurance
"Our three children attended CCES from primer through graduation. As a result, CCES has played an enormous role in our lives. Honestly, we cannot name another organization that has had a greater impact on our family. When the School approached us about an Endowment Campaign to improve educational quality, we felt compelled to support it. Although our children were very involved in sports and music, academics is the ultimate raison d'etre of the School. As a competitive family, we want CCES to compete academically in the Southeast, not merely in South Carolina. To do this - to go toe-to-toe with the best schools in Atlanta and Charlotte -- it needs greater financial support. CCES must not merely be a good school - it must be a great school. It must be a school that --like our City - "punches above its weight." After years of three tuitions, continuing to contribute a "half tuition" annually in support of the School seemed like a reasonable step. We decided to use that sum to purchase a life insurance policy with the School as the beneficiary. That is not the only way to structure a gift, but it seemed to make sense for us. An old preacher once said, "show me where a man spends his money, and I'll show you where his heart is...." For us, our heart is with CCES. We are vested and invested in the School. It simply has played too great a role in our lives for us not to support it now."
